Leaves

Finished size: approximately 22 × 39 cm (8¾ × 15⅜ inches).

The embroidery is stitched on linen fabric with 8 threads per cm (approximately 20-count linen).

The design is worked with flora-cotton and silver thread, using 2 strands in the needle.

The pattern includes full cross stitches, half cross stitches, and backstitches.

The pattern chart is repeated six times to create a continuous design. This makes it easy to adjust the size of the embroidery, allowing you to make it either smaller or larger to suit your project.

The inspiration for this design came from the leaves of one of the oldest roses in my garden. Their beautiful shapes and delicate details formed the basis of the pattern.

The small embroidered decoration featuring roses and leaves is stitched on a leftover piece of canvas using assorted leftover threads—a lovely way to give embroidery materials a second life.

Sunshine

This table runner is called Sunshine, a fitting name for the warm yellow shades that characterize the embroidery.

The finished embroidery measures 36 x 66 cm (approximately 14 x 26 inches) and is stitched on 8-count linen fabric using both cross stitch and outline stitch techniques. Three strands of DMC floss were used in the needle.

The design is created as a free-form embroidery and consists of three randomly placed areas of cross stitch. Around these sections, outline stitches have been embroidered in various shades of yellow, creating movement and bringing the design to life.

The outline stitches wind across the fabric like delicate swirls. The sheen of the DMC floss highlights the stitches and gives the embroidery a beautiful texture and a vibrant, dimensional appearance.

Tiles

This embroidery is inspired by the cracked pavement tiles that can be found in many urban environments. Looking more closely, the cracks often reveal fascinating patterns and shapes.

In this piece, the pattern sheet has been repeated six times, creating a larger surface with a simple, graphic expression.

The finished embroidery measures approximately 60 × 40 cm and is worked on 8-thread linen canvas using running stitch. flora-cotton thread is used throughout, stitched with 2 strands in the needle.

Fantasy

Fantasy is the name of this small napkin pattern, measuring approx. 20 x 20 cm. It is embroidered on linen fabric with 8 threads per cm, using flora-cotton no. 341 (black) with 2 strands in the needle. The stitches used are cross stitch and backstitch.

Fantasy is also the theme in my small brooches, which measure approx. 4 x 6 cm. They are not simply flat pieces of fabric, but are shaped to create a more sculptural expression.

I can no longer see well enough to make such small pieces, so I have moved to a larger format and work on pieces measuring approx. 18 x 24 cm.

They are small sculptures that can be used as decoration on a table or wall. I use full strands of DMC thread, metallic thread, and various types of yarn on coarse canvas fabric.

I use leftover fabric and yarn, which are bent and shaped to create a sculptural form. The work is finished by pulling threads on the back so the embroidery keeps its shape.
